Dux-Soup is a LinkedIn automation tool. The user can accelerate lead generation by finding prospects and targeting them with personalized LinkedIn campaigns.

According to the vendor, the tool is designed to:

As with any other LinkedIn automation tool, Dux-Soup is awesome for anyone who can benefit from LinkedIn lead generation automation. That means it is ideal for:

  • Sales professionals
  • Marketers

  • Business owners

Other than these, we believe individuals will find personalized messages, advanced filtering, and CRM integration useful.

Let’s dive into the key features of Dux-Soup and explore how it works. Along the way, we’ll highlight some things we love (and a few we’re not too fond of) to give you a balanced view.

Browser Extension

Dux-Soup operates through a browser extension, which sets it apart from many other LinkedIn automation tools that ask you to connect your LinkedIn account directly to their platform. While this means you’re not handing over as much of your data upfront, it also means there’s less direct integration with LinkedIn. But don’t worry, we’re not going to get too deep into the data privacy side of things for now.

 

Once you add the Dux-Soup extension to your browser, it’s good to go and ready to perform its tasks. Essentially, Dux-Soup acts as a bot that can browse LinkedIn using three key sources:

  • LinkedIn search
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator search
  • LinkedIn Recruiter search

These features work smoothly with the Campaigns section in the Dux-Dash, where we’ll explore how these two functions work together to streamline your LinkedIn automation experience.

The extension also offers several customization options to fine-tune how the bot operates. For instance, you can set it to skip profiles based on certain attributes, as shown in the screenshot above. This is a useful feature, but it would be even better if there were more advanced filters—like the ability to skip profiles by location, job title, and other criteria. Adding these extra filters would definitely enhance the automation capabilities and make the tool even more powerful.

The Planner feature lets you set the working hours for Dux-Soup’s bot, helping it mimic the behavior of a real person. While this is a useful option, it’s not exactly revolutionary—most other LinkedIn automation tools offer similar features to avoid triggering LinkedIn’s automation warnings or bans.

Campaigns

Campaigns are where you can create and manage your LinkedIn lead generation efforts, and they’ll likely be the main feature you’ll use most often in Dux-Soup. One great thing about this feature is that you can create an unlimited number of campaigns—something that many competing tools restrict.

However, right from the beginning, the user interface feels a bit outdated. This becomes even more noticeable as you dive deeper into this feature (and others, too). It’s a bit of a strange contrast, especially after being impressed by the sleek design of the landing page.

Let’s walk through creating a campaign. First, you’ll give it a name, and the system will automatically assign an ID to it. After that, you can choose from three target sources:

  • Regular LinkedIn
  • Sales Navigator
  • Recruiter

For this review, we’ll stick with Regular LinkedIn since we don’t use the other two. A handy feature here is the ability to automatically assign tags to the leads from your campaign. This can be super useful later on when you want to organize and distinguish leads from different campaigns.

You can also add a description for the campaign and set up a series of actions to create a flow of up to 12 campaign steps. Plus, you can personalize the actions with placeholders, and set delays between each one to mimic real human behavior.

 

There are not a lot of actions available here:

  • Connect
  • Message
  • Endorse
  • Visit
  • InMail
  • Follow

Of course, you can chain these actions however you like, giving you plenty of flexibility. However, keep in mind that there are no pre-made templates, so you’ll need to build everything from scratch. You also have the option to move actions around, but this feature can be a bit buggy at times.

It can get frustrating, especially when you add a new action and it ends up in the wrong section, making it impossible to move. This just adds to the feeling that the user interface is a bit outdated and not very intuitive, particularly for beginners.

Once you create your campaigns, you will see them in your dashboard, where you can toggle them on/off, and set which is the preferred one.

Collecting Data for Campaigns

Collecting data for your campaigns requires the use of the browser extension, and you’ll need to have a LinkedIn tab open at all times—unless you invest in the Cloud Edition. This does make it feel more like a semi-automation tool rather than a fully automated one, doesn’t it?

There are two ways you can collect data with the Dux-Soup extension:

  • Manually
  • Automated

Overall, we’re not too thrilled about the fact that the extension is mandatory for data collection. It makes the automation process more tedious and less seamless. Plus, the user interface could definitely be improved, especially for beginners who may find it confusing or overwhelming.

Manual Data Collection

Next, you simply type in the desired keyword in the search bar.

Once the search results page loads, Dux-Soup will start crawling the profiles and display them in the Dux-Soup Tricks pop-up. From there, you can manually select the leads and choose which campaign to add them to. After that, you’ll need to move on to the next page and repeat the process.

For automated data collection, you will need to go to the extension again and click on the Enroll function (once the search results page loads).

Then the new window pops up that lets you choose to which campaign you want to add leads, and what is the maximum number of profiles to enroll.

Once you start the automated data collection, Dux-Soup’s bot will run in the background, but you still need to keep a LinkedIn tab open. You’ll receive notifications about which profiles have been processed and how many have been added. The bot will also introduce pauses between actions to mimic natural human behavior, helping to avoid detection by LinkedIn.

How does automatic lead generation look like.

The extension also lets you see what is the progress with each lead based on the campaign actions, which is a cool feature.

Funnel Flow

Funnel Flow is the analytics dashboard in Dux-Soup, where you can track the performance of your campaigns with a clear funnel visualization. It allows you to select a campaign and set a time range for analysis.

The visualization is easy to understand, and you can copy the prospects directly from the funnel. However, there’s no built-in export button, so you’ll have to manually open your preferred spreadsheet app and paste the data there.

You can export data in sheets as well.

While this may be just a nitpick, once you paste the prospect data, there is no header row, so you will need to fill this manually.

The other part of Funnel Flow is the Prospect tab, where you can view all the prospects based on the stage they’re in within the funnel. Here, you have a few options to manage your prospects:

  • Qualify In and Out – Add these tags to each prospect.
  • Message – This option was greyed out during the free trial.
  • Switch – Move a prospect to another campaign.
  • Unenroll – Remove a prospect from the campaign.

You can also visit their LinkedIn profile and view any conversation history, if available.

However, the interface here also feels a bit outdated. Plus, it’s important to note that Dux-Soup won’t scrape the emails of these prospects, which could be a limitation if you’re looking to gather more contact details.

Email Scraper

Now that we’ve pointed out that Dux-Soup doesn’t scrape emails for prospects added to campaigns, it’s important to clarify one thing – while Dux-Soup does offer some useful options, they come at a cost. So, if you’re looking for features like email scraping, be prepared to pay extra for those capabilities.

Email scraper requires you to buy Dux-Soup points separately.

Dux-Soup does offer the email scraping feature, but it’s locked behind a paywall. Essentially, you’ll need to pay an additional $14.99 for 100 email credits.

We’re not big fans of this approach, especially since it appears that Dux-Soup is simply scraping the email addresses that are publicly available on LinkedIn, rather than offering more advanced features. It feels like an extra cost for something that seems fairly basic.

The queued Activity window allows you to see which actions are currently queued for each prospect in a campaign – pretty straightforward stuff.

The Activity Log window allows you to track the actions performed on the prospects in any given campaign. You can see the status of each scheduled action and even retry a failed action for any prospects if needed.

However, when it comes to CRM features, Dux-Soup falls a bit short compared to the competition:

  • No integrated email finder tool
  • Very limited filtering options for organizing leads – you can only filter by name
  • A basic, outdated interface

These limitations make it less powerful as a complete CRM solution, especially for users who need more advanced features.

Here are some of the most notable integrations Dux-Soup offers:

  • Woodpecker – Combine email outreach and LinkedIn outreach in one seamless workflow.

The integration support is definitely one of Dux-Soup’s strong points, offering flexibility and the ability to streamline your processes across multiple platforms. This is one of the key advantages Dux-Soup brings to the table, in our opinion.

Our take on the pricing:

While the Pro plan is very affordable compared to competitors, it falls short for serious LinkedIn lead generation due to its limited features. The Turbo plan is a solid option, but it doesn’t offer cloud-based functionality, which feels like a missed opportunity at that price.

Overall, the best choice is the Cloud plan, which is really the only one that can compete with other tools in its category. So, if you’re looking for a plan that offers the full potential of Dux-Soup, the $99/month Cloud plan is the minimum you’ll need to invest.
